I am an independent sports writer and analyst specialising in data-driven coverage of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

Through HockeySteve Stats & Insights, I translate complex hockey metrics, roster developments, player performances and league trends into sharp, accessible match previews and post game reviews.

My work focuses heavily on tracking form and utilising statistical analysis to break down game-week performances – including proprietary features like EIHL Power Rankings.

With a proven track record of maintaining a consistent editorial structure and schedule aligned with the relentless pace of a domestic hockey season, I deliver rapid, informative, reliable and easy to understand insights with a fast turnaround, when fans need them most.

This is of course all from the perspective of being a Cardiff Devils fan, however, since joining a new EIHL-related podcast, EIHL Face-Off, this has become a passion project turned into reality and hopefully more opportunities will continue going forward.

Since its launch, it has gone over 100 episodes, listened and downloaded tens of thousands of times, frequently features inside the top 10 charts for ice hockey podcasts globally and recently gained recognition as an exemplary product for the sport and league at the 2026 Scottish Podcast Awards.
