L10GP; 6 – 4 – 0
Devils travel to Glasgow to face off against the Clan, off the back from a hard battle on home ice vs Steelers midweek, where they will look to complete another sweep, this time on the road.
Devils are 3 to one vs Clan, with each of the games being settled by one or two goals, offering very close, tightly checked games.
The goals average favours Devils at 3.25 to 2.25, a fair reflection of their past games, however, Clan have been building confidence and going on runs recently, with their last 3GP needing extras, including back to back shootouts.
From those L5GP, Clan have collected 8 points, with Devils just 4. Prior to their last home SOL, Clan went on a four game winning streak, whilst on the road, Devils have only once strung 3 wins together, often breaking in twos.
9 points separate the teams, with Devils needing a vital win to continue the push for top places and securing their playoff position, where as Clan are looking to extend a gap on 9th placed Storm to 14 points and edge closer to the mid table mark.
In terms of both teams’ L5GP, Clan have been consistent with their averages, going 17:15 in the goals and against column, Devils, thanks to their drubbing last weekend in Belfast suffered to a 16:19 balance.
However, if those goals were taken away (10 unanswered) then it would read the same, 16:9 vs Clan overall.
There are obvious threats on both teams in terms of firepower, but defensively and in net is where this tilt will be decided.
The Devils tandem has been a lot stronger than Clans, but home form might spur them on and with the hosts yet to claim a victory against the good guys on their own ice, this last meeting might provide that extra motivation.
