League Record So Far; 16 – 1 – 9, 33pts, 4th Place
Dundee roll into town following a mixed outcome from the Continental Cup and now a steady focus on the year-end of the season, the business end to the 23/24 EIHL campaign.
Ambitions were bright at the start of the season, with eyes on every prize. However, dropped results, shaky form and unexpected exits have seen that whittled down to two titles, neither of which are certain.
The league is surely now the focus, with a mammoth task set to regain position and chip away at huge gap lead by the stellar performers from Sheffield.
Tale of the Tape
The Stars’ last visit ended in mild controversy as an unassailable 4 goal lead got slashed with minutes to spare in an entertaining game that sowed seeds of doubt from the stands to the benches.
This set back aside, though minor in detail, Devils are 3 undefeated against Dundee, scoring at least 4 goals against each game, 14 in total. However, defensive prowess will be a must going forward, to rebuild confidence and assurance from the blue liners.
In the previous league game, Devils legend Joey Martin scored a brace and Jamie Arniel has been very active in the L5GP – so expect more of the same with a flourish of finesse from Goal Sanford, if he recovered from the knock sustained in Conti Cup action last weekend.
This is a must win for the home team, to carry on the momentum gained and build from scratch following the bronze medal effort.
They are currently 2 – 0 – 3 in their L5GP, so a fresh post tournament berth from home will get them back up and running.
