League Record So Far; 12 – 1 – 5, 25pts, 2nd Place
Tonights game vs Clan will be the 7th vs Scottish Teams straight and the 4th regular season meet between the two already. In as many weeks, this is the 3rd meeting, that included a Challenge Cup clash that ended in elimination for the good guys.
In the same week, the home side fell on the road to the Flyers, with a heavy schedule and injuries taking its toll on the team. Since then, as speculated in the last review, the Devils have added defensive cover in the shape of Bode Wilde.
A 23 year old right hand D from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, that has a ferocious flare, can carry the puck well offensively with a hard shot that should make a big impact for the club. It is not clear yet that paperwork is sorted to allow him to play this weekend.
Another player that fans want to see ice out, especially against the visitors is Pietroniro, who got a severe post match suspension for 3 games in his last outing vs Clan. Would the clash of him and Kallen take flight tonight?
The record so far in the league vs Clan sits at 3 from 3 for the good guys, scoring 15 and conceding 4, including a shutout for a debut in goal from Tyler Wall.
Devils are currently unbeaten at home in the league against Scottish teams, so following a mixed weekend and being dumped out of the cup by their next opponents, they will look to continue that trend.
The L5GP for Devils sits at 3 – 1 – 1, for the Clan it is 2 – 3 – 0. Clans last 3GP featured OTL’s in each fixture. So they cannot be counted out as opponents, but hopefully a refreshed Devils team can skate out rapidly and take the W.
Who is Hot?
Goal Sanford is on a heater in the L10GP, putting up 12 points from 9 markers and 3 helpers. No doubt this form will continue.
Ben Bowns – it goes without saying that GB’s number one net minder has been a force this season, who is the current top goalie in the EIHL and hasn’t moved from the top three all season thus far. Big performance incoming.
