League Record So Far; 9 – 1 – 4, 2nd Place, 19 points
Devils face Dundee Stars in their next instalment of their Scottish road trip, first stopping by at Braehead Arena vs Clan in the Challenge Cup, which wrought some controversy as well as some discerning comments from coach Pete Russell.
The good guys came away victors and a goal advantage to go home to Cardiff on Wednesday for the second leg in the quarter finals.
Their record so far against Scottish teams has been 100% in all meets in regular season, with 4 wins. Only 4 goals against, scoring 23 along the way with a brace of shutouts.
They are looking for a bounce back in the league, after a dazzling run of wins was halted by Panthers and Blaze respectively, returning a sole point from 4 last weekend.
Their opponents aren’t to be sniffed at. They both sit third and fourth behind the top two teams this season, keeping pace, but that could all change at the end of play on Sunday night.
One noted absentee will be Chad Pietroniro, who got a 3 game sussy from the EIHL DOPS team, following a boarding call on Wednesday during the Challenge Cup game vs Clan.
As of yet, no reciprocal decision has been made regarding a disgraceful hit on a Devils player, landing him into the pipes from the numbers.
In case anyone has forgotten, there was an unnerving incident in Finland not too long ago, which should have been taken into consideration, with a somewhat soft contact hit from ‘number 74’.
From the game notes on their previous match, Devils went without Barrow, Arniel and Martin. Duggan only iced for 01:42 and Chad Pietroniro got thrown for a major and a game misconduct, icing just 33s.
