Devils Catch Up

Players Return, Expectations Rise

Following a mixed weekend of results, Cardiff Devils will be boosted by the return of all players missing over the opening weekend.

Batch and Bowns welcomed two new devils to the club, whilst precautionary efforts were made for injured Ryan Barrow and Joshua Waller.

Despite their absence on the roster last weekend, the team battled to a win and a loss. So, expect a huge response against Clan this weekend to make sure points are secured before a big battle in Sheffield on the Sunday game.

This will likely see a tense game, following the atrocious hit on Barrow and some embarrassment dished out to Tansey afterwards, not to mention the Devils would want to even the score in the wins column, to collect all 4 points.

Devils are currently 1-1-2 from their last few results, so a winning start to the league officially, will be the focus this weekend.

Who sits? This development would send Bayley Harewood back down to Bristol Pitbulls, despite good games from him over the last few weeks. This would also mean a skater will sit.

By TOI, it would like be Riley Brandt, as the D would be fully replenished with the Captain back, which means a battle for the spot between Brandt and Pietroniro.

Brandt occupied the 3rd line, however the last two games felt like both the bottom 6 were identical, so with the return of Waller and Barrow, it would be expected to shift players down or across.

I would expect Pietroniro to take a spot, particularly based on his last home performance and that fight https://x.com/DavidBurnett90/status/1705664833373245850?s=20

So far, both of these guys are yet to lose a fight this season (including pre-season).
